Policies & Lifetime Support

At Line 8 Lops, the health, happiness, and lifelong well-being of our rabbits are always our priority. We want every adopting family to feel confident, informed, and supported when welcoming their new bunny home.

1. Deposits & Payments

A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a bunny. A reservation is not confirmed until the deposit has been received. The remaining balance is due at pickup. Payments can be made by cash or e-transfer to line8lops@gmail.com.

2. Priority Reservations

Priority Reservation families receive scheduled selection opportunities based on their assigned selection positions. A $200 deposit is required to secure a Priority Reservation position and is applied toward the $400 adoption fee. Each family receives a 30-minute selection window. Available rabbits are offered in selection order. If a family does not find a suitable rabbit during their selection window, their reservation may be transferred to the next eligible reservation round.

3. Pet-Only Adoption & Breeding Rights

All Line 8 Lops rabbits are placed in pet-only homes unless breeding rights have been expressly approved by us. Rabbits adopted as pets are not to be bred.

4. Health at Time of Adoption

Every rabbit receives a health assessment before leaving our care. We make every reasonable effort to ensure our rabbits are healthy and thriving at the time of adoption. However, rabbits are living animals, and future illnesses or unexpected health concerns cannot always be predicted or prevented. We cannot guarantee lifelong health or freedom from future medical conditions.

5. Personality, Behaviour & Hormonal Changes

Baby rabbits are still developing their personalities. While we do our best to describe each rabbit’s temperament accurately, behaviour can change as rabbits mature. Hormonal changes during adolescence can cause territorial behaviour, nipping, spraying, mounting, litter box regression, and changes in sociability. These behaviours can occur in both males and females and do not necessarily reflect a rabbit’s permanent adult temperament. We cannot guarantee that a rabbit’s baby personality will remain unchanged throughout adulthood.

6. Spaying & Neutering

We strongly encourage families to discuss spaying or neutering with an exotic veterinarian. Sterilization can help reduce hormone-driven behaviours, improve litter habits, support bonding, and prevent certain reproductive health concerns.

7. Pickup Dates & Extended Boarding

Each rabbit is assigned a scheduled go-home date once it is ready to leave our care. Families are responsible for arranging pickup within the agreed timeframe. Extended stays may be accommodated when space is available and may be subject to additional daily boarding fees.

8. Lifetime Return & Rehoming Policy

Every Line 8 Lop will always have a home here. If circumstances change and you are no longer able to care for your rabbit, we welcome them back at any age, for any reason, with no questions asked and no judgment. We ask that families contact us before privately rehoming or selling their rabbit. Returns do not include a refund or exchange.

9. Right to Refuse Adoption

Line 8 Lops reserves the right to decline or cancel an adoption when we believe a placement is not in the best interest of the rabbit. The welfare of our rabbits will always take priority.

10. Ongoing Care & Veterinary Responsibility

Once a rabbit leaves our care, the adopting family assumes responsibility for its daily care, housing, nutrition, enrichment, and veterinary expenses. Rabbits require appropriate living conditions, unlimited hay, fresh water, exercise, companionship, and access to an exotic veterinarian. Families are expected to seek veterinary care promptly whenever illness or injury is suspected.

11. Sex Determination

We carefully assess the sex of each rabbit before adoption. However, determining the sex of young rabbits can occasionally be difficult, and mistakes are possible. We recommend confirming your rabbit’s sex with an exotic veterinarian as it matures.

12. Reservation Notification List & Available Rabbits

Joining our free notification list does not guarantee a rabbit, a specific colour, sex, or selection position. Priority Reservation families receive their selection opportunities first. Any remaining rabbits may then be offered publicly on a first-come, first-served basis.

Our Lifetime Commitment

Adopting a Line 8 Lop means becoming part of our extended bunny family. We are always happy to answer questions, offer care guidance, and provide support throughout your rabbit’s life. Every bunny matters, long after they leave our rabbitry.
